Ethical Metalsmiths Welcomes New Board & Advisors

College Corner, Ohio. Aug. 20, 2020. Sixteen-year-old Ethical Metalsmiths (EM), a nonprofit devoted to inspiring responsible jewelry practices through education, connection, and action, has welcomed three new board members and seven new advisors.

New board members include Monica Stephenson of ANZA Gems and Moyo Gems, president (previously president elect) for a three-year term; Alexandra Hart of the eponymous design firm, executive director (previously immediate past president); and Eric Braunwart Columbia Gem House as a new board member. EM board members are nominated after serving on the advisory council.

In other news, Susie Ganch, artist and educator, former board member and co-director of EM’s Radical Jewelry Makeover program, will continue to serve as an advisory council member. Robin Gambhir of Fair Trade Jewellery Co. has stepped off the board and will serve as an advisory council member. Gambhir helped develop and launch the EM Supplier Members self-assessments.
